Welcome bottle aboard PO Azura in the Canary Islands. Did not have high expectations but unfortunately even the low ones were not met on this occasion. Tasted like fruity battery acid and not in the good way. Wondered if bottle was faulty but the initial taste meant I was not interested to purchasing another bottle to retry. Our companion cruise family in a different cabin also commented how undrinkable they found their bottle so maybe batch issues or even delivery / storage issues. (However, the 2015 Taittinger, Preludes as well as 2014 Nyetimber tasted on board showed very well).

Crown cap. Not too aggressive mousse. Fruity with stone & tropical fruits. OK length. Easy drinking and quite refreshing. Current price point might not make it VFM though as there are similar cremant(s) at this and cheaper price range. However, a couple of non wine drinkers at dinner really enjoyed this.

Ripe grapes, raisins, burnt caramel and citrus skins. Fully evolved, good acidity, lovely balance despite the age. Went well with a simple cheese course of Comte, Wendesley Dale with cranberries, truffled brie as well as truffled cheddar.
