I agree with the previous reviewer that this wine is not a 1992 vintage. When first opened, it was tannic and tight. It's color was deep purple to the edges. Over the course of dinner it opened beautifully to reveal black fruits, earth, chocolate and tea in a rather long finish. Wonderfully balanced, very food friendly, I would put it ahead of many fruit driven California cabs. A stylish, serious wine. I was impressed as were my dinner companions. But not a 92.

Don't know why so many other reviews are low. This wine was fabulous, in an interesting, old world way. Well structured, with restrained, chewy dark fruits that carried throughout the palate. Smooth, sweet tannins. Both tasty and interesting, hedonistic and intellectual. Definitely different and that might explain the scores. I wish I had more.

Floral, feminine, lacking some concentration but balanced and structured. Typical Burg earthiness. Good everyday Burg but nothing special.
