1st day on the nose - spicy, funky and vegetal, with little fruit coming through. On the palate, earthy, broccoli with some plum, medium acidity and grainy & grippy tannins.
2nd day - coming into its own, with a great nose of dark cherry, plum, spice and a little funk & greenness. Sweeter on the palate, with cherry, plum, good earthiness, and quite a bit of crushed rock finishing with balanced acidity and still quite grippy tannins.
Quite good for the price! Not the most complex wine but certainly good and could use more time in bottle.

Light straw in the glass, lots of bubbles. Muted nose of sweet peach, slightly off dry on the palate and tart with a slight steely taste with hints of peach and apple. Not a thinking man's sparkling wine, but for $6 I can drink this all day.

Decanted for about 3-4 hours. Dark ruby red, for a 11-year old wine there wasn't much fading around the edges... looked more like it was 3-4 years old. Beautifully expressive nose of cassis, cherry, violets, cedar, tobacco and a little mint, vanilla & caramel. On the palate, sweet, full bodied texture - layered on the attack with cherry, plum, cassis, tobacco, with medium acidity resolving into velvety, smooth teeth coating grippy tannins and a long 30-40 second tart cherry finish. Quite well structured and balanced.
Seriously good stuff... a bit more primary on the fruit than I would have expected for the age. Very heavy for what I expected to be a much lighter wine at 13.6%abv, but apparently they were able to get the extraction and fruit without going crazy on the brix.

Dark, dark red, almost opaque.
