This is a lovely wine, in the tradition of the sweeter Amarones, more appropriate to drink alone or after dinner with a dolce, perhaps. My pairing with a rotisserie chicken not ideal, I suspect. Originally tasted at the winery, then a few bottles shipped home.

Despite suggestions to the contrary, the window for this wine remains open. Sorry to have consumed my last bottle last night. Beautifully mature golden color, clean citric flavors, burgundian in nature, just a great Cal. chardonnay, as revelatory to me today as when I first tasted about fifteen years ago.

2006 Château Picard

Little fruit, somewhat acidic, but drinkable upon opening without decanting. Re-corked and tried a day or so later - thin and sour.
