Still excellent (see jan 2016 note) but it's lost a bit more fruit since last year. More spice, smoked meat and leather now. Though the black and blue fruit is still present, I suspect it's on its way out. Time to drink up, which won't be a problem for me since this was my last bottle. 92+

Waaaay more fruit than my tasting in 2013. Cherry, mint, strawberry, chocolate, eucalyptus. But still a little tannic bite at the back end. Give the rest 4 more years.

Decanted for a few hours and ate with dessert. Just a lovely example of an powerfully elegant Aussie Shiraz. Nose of blueberry and smoked meat and a hint of forest floor. Palate is pretty mind blowingly awesome: smooth, balanced with tons of excellent fruit and structure. Opulent comes to mind. But the fruit is not hedonistic like some Aussie fruit bombs. Black and blueberries, cherries, and chewy tannins. long finish with some elevation in flavor profile on the tail end. A bit of leather suggests this could go a few more years but it's drinking nicely now.
