Popped and poured this wine on 11/15/11. This wine has a dark ruby red color with a spicy mint herb nose. To taste I got light dark fruit and currants with cherry. The tartness of the cherry fruit mellows out as the wine breathes either on its own or through the venturi. After breathing, the wine opens up with hints of smoke and oak. The wine is well balanced with mild tannins that give it a longer finish. This wine is for all occasions since it is more medium bodied. This wine is a solid 88 in my opinion. QPR is great for $14 / bottle!

This wine is made by Chris & Scot Bilbro, who also make the Marietta Cuvee, which is awesome (new world style of wine, fruit BoMb!). I had this wine, the Petit Sirah, with my wife over a 3 day period. At first glance, it’s a deep dark purple inky wine. To the nose we picked up dark fruit with hints of herbs, mineral and earth. This wine was two dimensional for the first couple of days. Tasting it we got big dark fruits, dark currants, dark berries, slight cocoa, chewy, lingering wine. However, the tannins initially made it seem tart. If you’re going to drink this wine immediately, I suggest hitting it with the Venturi to tone down the tannins. Second day, the taste profile hadn’t changed much. Third day, the wine was ideal. The tannins were milder, which was a better balance with the wine (according to our palate). This wine is worth having on the shelf to drink now and to age.
