Bottle 2 of 5. Opened at Ricketts Lake. Very fine sediment settled at bottom of bottle. Cork perfect. Very clear. Lovely colour. Perfumed nose, some coffee, bit of smoke. Fruit forward. Light mouthfeel. Some fading alcohol heat. Acid fading. Soft tannic finish. Slight bitterness.

This note is pretty much for OWR, as it's unlikely anyone else has any left in their cellars. 10 years to the day this wine was served at our wedding, my wife and I cracked open one of our 3 remaining bottles this evening. Paired with a fat, grilled ribeye, blue cheese and an arugula-tomato salad; the wine was exceptional. Consistent tasting notes to OWR's, with the caveat it began to fade by the last glass. Unlikely the last two bottles will make it to our 25th and 50th anniversaries, but we're more than willing to let them collect dust and find out. This bottle has left us very pleased with our decision to plant 27 Cabernet Franc vines in our Toronto Beaches backyard 4 years ago. Fingers crossed our first vintage this Fall ages as well as this 2005 Vineland.
