We shared this on our "Date Night!" Esther was quite surprised when I pulled this out of the wine bag at the Velo Fellow. We paired it with Raw fries and Bleu Cheese, and Pimento Cheese fried green tomatoes.
Big, Bold, and in your face! Drank fine now, but will be much better after a couple years laying down in the bottle. Ripe dark fruits on the nose and palate, subtle baking spice and vanilla, robust but balanced tannins and tamed acidity made this a perfect wine for the evening!

Wonderful way to start a Friday night after a Glacial week. Ripe strawberry and dried cranberry, followed by subtle tobacco, cocolate, and leather. Very well balanced. Non-fruit characteristics were nuanced well, and the fruit showed maturity and vibrance at the same time. This wine could easily age for another 10-20 years and be amazing, but it was fantastic today, as is.

Wow, this wine stole the show!!! Better than I remembered, and had after some serious wines. Third in line following a 2008 Ridge Ponzo vineyard zin, and a 2009 Pisoni santa lucia highlands syrah. This was the showstopper. Well balanced. Heavy weight on the palate. TONS of caramel on the nose, and lingering notes of toffee and dates. Gorgeous!!! Perfect october patio wine! Well played John Anthony Truchard... Well played.
