  • 2012 Domaine Belle Crozes-Hermitage Cuvée Louis Belle

Medium ruby. On the nose the wine has medium intensity aromas of red plum, red cherries, black pepper, black olives, salami, charred wood. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acidity, medium plus ripe grippy tannins, high alcohol, medium plus body with a medium flavor intensity with flavors of red plum, red cherries, black pepper, black olives, salami, charred wood. The finish is medium. The wine is good demonstrating complexity with red fruits, spice, oak, and some savory notes. The alcohol , tannins and fruit nature are in balance. However, the wine lacks intensity on the palate and the finish was a disappointing medium . However a decent QPR.

The finish is medium plus with lingering red fruits but also some bitterness. The wine is good demonstrating complexity on the nose and the palate with some fresh fruit still apparent, but tertiary aromas dominating. The wine is balanced with the acidity, tannins and fruit nature in balance. The finish while lingering was bitter on the end, and the wine was of medium intensity. The wine requires decanting and several hours before opening up.
