The 21 years since this was crafted has been very good to this wine. The nose itself was intoxicating with deep blue fruits of plum & blackberries wrapped around some vanilla from the oak.
The palate was soft and lush and very well balanced. While the tannins are securely in place it was not as stringent. Plenty of black fruits, herbs and oak imparted spices and vanilla. This did get better with airtime but good to go from the bottle. One reviewer preferred this without food, and it was delish, but paired with Italian made that 3rd flavor emerge which increased enjoyment considerably!

Last tasted 3 years ago and time has been good to it! Same notes but it seems more integrated and lush. I really enjoyed this wine. Enjoyed with cheese but a good choice to stand alone enjoyment or with lighter fare foods.

12/10/2020 6:27:00 AM - I have been a ROAR fan for a number of years. They provide a high quality wine at a reasonable price point on a consistent basis. I also love the fact they represent a great location and terroir in the wines they offer. I think you will find they are a worthy addition to your cellar. Appreciate your feedback and comments. Always enjoy good wine!
10/5/2020 4:10:00 PM - brouigu1, Thanks for your comment on my tasting note for the KP RRV. I agree that the KB wines are still excellent, it is just that any number of wines equally deliver at a lower price point. I am a huge fan of ROAR, WesMar, Drew, Fulcrum and Tyler. There was a time when KB was significantly superior and worth the price differential. I believe the playing field has evened out in terms of quality, whereas the price point has continued to escalate.
4/8/2015 8:57:00 AM - Woodinville is on my yearly stop as well. Washington has some interesting things happening. Those you mentioned as well as Mark Ryan, Gorman and Long Shadows seem to be doing well.
Last year I was in the Hood River area and found some interesting Rhone style reds being produced. The journey is the fun. Cheers
4/7/2015 5:09:00 PM - Brouigu1, I see the resemblance in our cellars as well! You must have (or should) tasted wines in Woodinville, WA. Lots of Delille, Dusted Valley, Januik, and some others don't even make it into my CT "cellar" to post on, but still great. Cheers!

Decent wine, quite fruit forward and a little over extracted IMO. On the sweeter side so not an every day Cabernet for me.
