Tasted along with a number of bolder wines during the Super Bowl. This was giving off little to nothing on the nose, and didn't have much to offer. I tasted this over several subsequent days, and didn't note any improvement. I believe this was my second Rhys pinot, and may open a few more to see if this was on off bottle.

This wine is a fantastic place right now, and was the winner in a group of wines that included the 2005 Bionic Frog, 2007 Saxum James Berry Vineyard and Bone Rock, and the 2007 Carlisle James Berry syrah.
Decanted for 3 hours, the complexion of this wine morphed throughout the night. The most memorable aspect of this wine was the initial black olive notes that swirled across the tongue before changing into more of a green olive note. Long finish and in a great place.

Upon opening, this wine was very reductive on the nose, and had sulfuric/rubber undertones in the forefront. I swirled with great vigor, and drank over the next few days, but these notes never seemed to go away, although they did become less noticeable. I have two more of these, and will give them a few more years.
