8/11/2019 5:41:00 AM - Greetings again :) By any chance do you have any 2007 Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova that you are aging? Asking to see if you are having the same problems as I have. The best way to describe my problem is an informal adjective. “Out of Whack” Everything seems to be falling apart. Of course I am aging the wine further in the hope this problem corrects itself. Would be more than happy to send you a bottle but I think I remember you are located in Europe. Have a great Sunday my friend! Dave

11/4/2018 1:41:00 PM - Thanks for your message and kind words, empire80. It was a fantastic tasting, sorry to hear that you were served a weak bottle of 1996 P2. Luckily the wines were more energetic than our revered speaker!

11/4/2018 12:34:00 PM - Thanks for posting your notes from the DP vertical. My own notes are much less articulate, although our scores were quite similar - identical on the 08, 09, 04, 00, I was one point ahead on the 06, 03, 98 and 85, and one behind on the 95 (which I thought was wonderful and well worth 97 points). I didn't score the 96 - I think our table had a slightly duff bottle (very mushroomy). Overall the wines were superb, but I was a bit disappointed by the speaker - more like Eric Cantona than a a champagne guru! Stephen Spurrier's masterclass today was much more engaging.

7/22/2018 3:56:00 PM - Even though you're in the U.K., you MIGHT be interested in the '12 Fable Mountain Vyds Jackal Bird @ a (closeout?) $14.95 U.S. [I tasted it Saty, 7/21, @ Vintage Wines Ltd. in San Diego, CA, U.S.A. I & a fellow, more experienced taster were NOT impressed, though I would ALWAYS defer to someone like yourself who has enjoyed it numerous times over a several yr span.]

2/20/2018 12:38:00 AM - Porseleinberg Syrah: Would anyone who has a bottle of the 2013 in their cellar be prepared to bring it with them to a private 6 vintage Porseleinberg vertical (plus other various SA wines) tasting i am planning in London this Spring please ? I have the other 5 vintages already by the way...

9/30/2016 1:30:00 PM - If you never tried trotanoy and you could drink the 2009 or 2010, which one would you try right now??

  • Doni.Bertolami says:

10/11/2015 1:07:00 AM - Thought so. I was there last year and took away the same impression. Pretty impressive how they grow their vines on the vulvanic spoil. Most of the wines kept a good acidic lift despite the hot conditions.

  • rossi.wine says:

10/8/2015 3:51:00 AM - Hi Doni, yes it is. I was very impressed by how they have to train their vines. And the wines aren't bad either!

10/8/2015 3:19:00 AM - Hi Rossi, Is your profile picture from Lanzarote? Regards, Doni

2/12/2015 2:34:00 PM - Hi Tim and Bonnie, thanks for your message. No need to be envious - you won't find many first growths in my cellar, which is already an answer to your second question - I don't think they generally are worth the money, but I am not really qualified as I haven't had too many of them. I haven't tried Chateau Cantelys yet but I will look out for it and let you know.

  • Tim and Bonnie says:

2/12/2015 1:55:00 PM - Darn, attempted to view your cellar, driven by envy I suppose, but restricted. So I'll level set our wine experience with a question, have you enjoyed a 2009 Chateau Cantelys and what did you think of It? Second question, is first growth bordeaux worth the money, or can one, in your view, get close to the experience via other means?

2/5/2015 10:48:00 AM - Hi empire80, thanks for your message. The event was great in my view with pretty much only top vintages and wines in great condition. Spitting was hard at times, but as I had to get up very early the next morning it was necessary I am afraid. But please do post your notes!

2/4/2015 10:16:00 AM - Hi Rossi.wine, I enjoyed your tasting notes from the BBR Leoville Poyferre vertical. Your notes are much more articulate than my notes from the evening, so I no longer feel the need to write them up, although I found our scores were identical or within 1 for every wine except the 3 oldest where I was a bit more generous - perhaps my discipline was slipping at the end of a full evening without use of spittoon!
