The 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Renaissance is a total stunner. This effort exudes a flashy fruit-forward bouquet of mulberry, plum and black raspberry that's laced together with nuances of vanilla bean. There's seductive concentration of fruit and a sense of roundness in the mouth, along with incredible mid-palate depth and a persistent finish that continues to please. So good now, but ideally give this beauty another couple years in the cellar and then enjoy over the coming decade.

Prat Sura's 2015 Vacqueyras is a homerun effort composed of 60% Grenache and 60% Syrah. This expressive cuvée opens with red cherry, plum and raspberry aromas intermixed with black licorice, nutmeg and clove. The full-bodied palate shows fantastic concentration and structure, along with a finish that refuses to abate. A fantastic wine that can be enjoyed now and over the coming decade.

Still an infant with so much potential. My suggestion is to hold off popping the cork for a minimum of 3-4 years from now.
