Melted chocolate and blueberry pie assault the nose, the blueberry especially prominent, pure, and rich. On the palate, a ripe strawberry character dominates with perhaps the merest suggestion of basil. Grippy tannins latch onto the palate quickly and persist while a luxurious concentration and a lovely acidity contribute to a lush and satisfying finish. Nice QPR, might try decanting this bottle next time I try it, as it was a bit dense at first. 91+

This bottle was quite different from all previous bottles of this cuvee that I've had, in that this bottle was fully mature whereas previous bottles have been much more youthful and boisterous. This wine had stewed red and dark fruits, cinnamon, fresh baked pastry, and a certain smoked game/charred wood character on the nose. Certainly more complex than the more straightforward crushed fruit character found in previous bottles. On the palate there is a suggestion of red and black fruit that cedes very quickly to an earthy/spicy and herby character with hints of leather, black tea, red capsicum, and even candied bacon. It's supremely intriguing. Not much acid, and chalky but smooth tannins round it out. Certainly this bottle was at its apex if not a touch over the hill, but it was still enjoyable. It was fantastic with Dubliner cheese, which brought out an almost mocha-esque character in the wine that was very pleasant.

Possesses an amazing nose filled with coconut, pineapple, nectarine, and a cooling minty character that is seriously intoxicating in and of itself. On the palate, gobs of tropical fruit in intense concentration assault the palate in a fabulous and pure fashion, with delicious vanilla, banana, and peach notes on the back end. Creamy with a wonderful verve of acidity underlining the entire creation. This is a wonderful, full-throttle chardonnay, and is honestly a steal for $40. 93-95
