I can echo others on this review. Expected more for wine of this price range, especially with now 8 years of cellaring. light body. Not my style. Drank like cheap bordeaux.

10 years of waiting and it.is.worth.it. Reaffirms that Trinchero really makes pretty yet affordable napa merlot wines. Not sure about their cabs but they sure know how to make Merlot

8/3/2022 2:07:00 PM - So the plot thickens regarding the Beau Vigne Cult. Discovered a new website, beauvignecollection.com. The original Cult with gold etched letters goes by 10th anniversary, with a newer Cult with paper label that comes from purchased fruit. I believe 2019 will just be the new (cheaper) wine
6/16/2022 5:37:00 PM - Hi Won......regarding the 'pure Coke syrup' comment in my note...there have always been a lot of weird home remedies used in this country, particularly by the poorer 'less medically educated. My grandparents definitely fit this profile. Back in the 50's and 60's here in the States you could go to the pharmacy and buy a 4oz bottle of just the Coke syrup that Coca Cola used in their soda and it would be given to people a teaspoon at a time as a fix for digestive issues. Prior to that, Castor oil, was used as a home remedy for about 100 years in much the same manner and for all types of illness. You rarely hear or see these things being used today in our modern medical times. Cheers! Mark
12/2/2021 7:05:00 PM - I hear you. My guess is that they decided to declassify some of the 2017 grapes which gave rise to the Costco version. Not a good move. However I had a 2014 reserve recently that I really enjoyed, soI have been eager to try more and am curious what the new wine maker is doing. However, I think following Ed is the smarter move and I need to pay more attention to Cardano. What I have had so far has been excellent.
3/28/2021 6:37:00 AM - Be. I’m trying to comprehend the current relationship between Beau Vine and Seven Apart. Same owners still? I initially assumed that when Beau Vigne switched hands, it’s vineyards were going to be used for the new seven apart wines. Was surprised to see Beau Vigne still has a full lineup in 2018. Is the source the same as it was for Ed’s lineup? For example is the 2018 Juliet still sourcing the same grapes?

I just noticed that Beau Vigne continues with new winemaker, julien Falyard, and is offering 2018 Juliet and Romeo at $50. Have your tried these? Thoughts?
6/28/2020 8:35:00 PM - BL......regarding vintage: every vintage from '12 thru '16 was strong, just in different ways and at different times. The '12s and '14s are drinking very well right now. Many of the really heavy '13s need either more time in bottle or more decant, like 3+ hours right now. The '15s are really hit or miss right now but all 4 vintages were very, very good.
6/12/2020 11:24:00 AM - Hi again. Beau vigne continues to have a fire sale, with most 2017s being 50% off, including their Estate cab. What are your thoughts on this wine @. $75?
1/29/2020 5:13:00 AM - BL.....I have a few of the '16s. Have not tried yet, as it seems they might need a few years to hit their peak from what some CT'ers have said?
9/30/2019 2:13:00 PM - Nice to have a fan, Be.Lee. I am a physical therapist in private practice. Agree completely with copying your attending's techniques! But don't be afraid to branch out on your own, too. There's a LOT of great wine out there! Cheers! Mark
9/2/2019 5:53:00 AM - I am starting to post TNs this week as a cold and 2 operations on my wife have taken priority over wine and TN.
Cask 23 in my opinion requires more time due to it's complexity, closed, brooding fruit, and Stag's Leap Fruit, than most other Napa Cabernets. I opened 2 Cask 23 recently and hope you enjoy the notes.

Thanks for becoming a Fan of my Tasting Notes. You can buy older wine at Winebid.com or BrentwoodWine.com a single bottle at a time and save the newer releases in your cellar. My opinion:
Chardonnay and Pinot Noir found in the Russian River area and parts of Sonoma and usually need 5 years of age.
Pichon Lalande and other classified Bordeaux usually show best at the 20 to 30 year mark.
Grand Cru Burgundy shows best at the 20 to 30 year mark.
Premiere Cru Burgundy are best after 5 to 9 years in the cellar.
Cabernet Sauvignon are best at the 7 to 10 year mark but Cask 23 takes 19 to 35 years to show.
Enjoy.

Pulls punch above its price point. Typical Sonoma balance. Great fruit with great backbone and structure. Bedrock makes some wonderful wines.
