2006 Snowden Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch

Popped this open last night after a really long day. Deep, dark color of ink in the galss with a wonderful intense smell as I swirled it in my glass. Had a good feeling it was going to be good. Had this sitting in the cellar for about a year...Chalky tannis suggest this wine still has a ways to go. Full bodied, deep flavors of spice, oak and blueberry. I liked it a lot and so did Michelle. I think I have one more left. Paid $25 a piece for these and worth every penny....Finished the the night with a Trinidad Robusto T from a May 2010 Box. Mild to medium and very smooth for such a young Habanos...Bravo for both!!!!!

Out for my Michelle's 42 B-day, and thought an 06 Switchback Ridge would be a good call. Last bottle we had was on her 40th in San Diego with Jaime and Silvia...Decanted for 2 hours and poured..Looked like pen ink in the glass it was so black in color. Absolutely intoxicating on the nose..Deep, rich massively full bodied with tastes of Rasberry and Spice. Great tannins with a velvity finish..If you like a full bodied bomb Switchback is the one...I love this wine....Going to finish the night with a Romeo Y Julieta Churchill Habanos from a Oct/08 Box...Cheers!!!! Happy Birthday Michelle!!!!!!

2001 Stewart Cabernet Sauvignon

Been awile since I drank a Stewart and this is my last 2001 in the cellar. Have a few 2005's and couple 2003's left. Anyways, popped this bad boy open and was amazed by the amount of sediment and the almost black color on the cork. I knew this was going to be good. Poured a glass for Michelle and myself and as always my wife can't wait to let a wine breath. Her first words were "Wow, this rich" This wine has definately put on some wait since the last time I had it. Very concentrated, rich, full bodied with a taste of oak and black cherry. Excellent finish making me wish I had more 01's..Going to finish this night off with an H Upmann Sir Winston from Sept 08 box....Cheers....
