Fruit profile of cherry, raspberry and currant accented by cedar, olive and toast. Fruit has some pizazz. Woody tannins provide the wine's structure -- it reminded me of an old Haut Brion I had several years ago. I really liked this today but curious how this holds up after five+ years. 94+

Cherry, baked cherries, in the bouquet...all a little subdued. Palate shows tons of red fruits but stays in check. So does the oak. A sweet entry, building to a rich full body that is quite deep. Picking up chocolate, coffee, mocha at various stages. Hidden tannins. Powerful, dry finish...a wave of red fruit and the darker coffee/mocha profile found in the mid-palate makes for a great ending.

Perfectly stored upon release. Very deep gold color whuch struck me as unusual, heavy weight, "smells like Positano", iow...bouquet shows crisp mineral, jasmine florals and citrus. It's very apealing. The palate however is tainted with a persistent bitterness. The vintage is likely mature at this point but this bottle shows much older than it really is. The oxidation here is unmistakable and unappetizing.
