12/20/2019 7:08:00 PM - You wrote: Not a professional critic? Perhaps you are just wildly underpaid?! Nice review. Kind of gets to the point. I haven't really started drinking my '07's in earnest, despite a fairly wide collection in my cellar (at all price points and styles). What, if anything, has been your impression of the '07's through the years? LOL!!!!!! Thanks for the kinds words. Regarding 2007 CdP, my experience has been mixed. Some reach the pinnacle (2007 Clos des Papes) while others have devolved into an alcoholic, over-ripe fruit mess (which leads to a TON of Parker bashing). The best retain a freshness and integrity of fruit that is special, but the inconsistency is troubling.

7/10/2019 7:28:00 AM - I put an answer to your question about the 2007 Clos St Jean on the wine itself, posted right after yours

3/18/2018 6:21:00 PM - Re Anne Gros 2012 Echezeaux, I'd think 2020-2025 would be wonderful.

2/25/2018 4:14:00 PM - Re Ponsot 2009 Chapelle, I'd wait 5 years for optimal drinking , but think it will last for decades from there. I see my drinking window post tasting the wine is 2019-2050.

1/1/2018 3:46:00 PM - Thanks very much for your response. I hate long decants, and I have been frustrated by the experience of decanting a wine for a couple of hours and then drinking it over another couple of hours only to realize that it was opening during the last glass!

1/1/2018 3:22:00 PM - Hello Magnum PI! Since you have a few bottles, then the best thing to do is to open one as soon as an opportunity arises. To my mind these wines have an immense drinking window. They are delicious from bottling and could last easily thirty years. So drink one now, see how you like it and then decide when to open the next one. Cheers, happy new year!
