My previous comment on the 2013 Maybach materium said flawed. It is anything but flawed and is one of two of my 100 points wines tasted in the past 12 months the other being the 2013 MacDonald

This is an amazing wine we had at the Caxambas Dinning room in Fiddlers Creek Naples, Flwith a prime Filet upon opening the nose, hit you straight on. I could almost not believe that the bottle had just been opened. upon opening we had our server decant it Because the nose is so dominating, I could not wait to taste it. The flavors were surreal as they exploded on my taste buds with big black fruit. This equaled my wine of the year a 2013 MacDonald Cabernet My suggestion is to buy as much of each that you can afford!!!!
This is by far one of my favorite affordable champagnes. I believe the use some oak in the aging which gives it a nice toasty flavor and nose with hints of candied honey and crème brûlée. This is not a sissy champagne but a full bottle of champagne for those that enjoy something more than citrus. I cannot wait until the 2008 is released.
