2005 Robert Michel Cornas La Geynale

PnP then decanted and drunk over 1h. Deep red, turning crimson towards the rim. The nose is smoky, bacon-like, more forest floor and black tea than red fruits. On the palate, it's very well balanced, remaining fresh, lively, and persistent. A wonderful Cornas with several more years ahead.

2013 Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard

PnP. I'm probably biased because I love Pico's wines... Tasted blind, many thought it was Côte de Beaune. Color is lightly golden. On the nose it's fresh golden apples and citrus. On the palate, it's ample, fleshy, with a fine backbone of Chablis' mineral acidity, and deliciously lightly sweet yellow fruit, ending with gentle bitter notes. Not a typical steely Chablis, Pico's wines always have excellent fruit quality in my opinion, picked at perfect maturity, which is right down my alley.

2021 Domaine Henri Naudin-Ferrand Aligoté Le Clou 34
3/16/2024 - frenchiecagowine Does not like this wine:
For starters, I don't like Aligoté and I have a hard time understanding the hype. However, I can tolerate it when it's well done, such as Villaine's Bouzeron or Ponsot's Morey-St-Denis.
This wine had everything I dislike about Aligoté: no fruit, high acid, lack of flesh, and bitter elements. In short, imbalanced, disjointed and unpleasant.
