Smooth, light tannins. Ready to drink now, but I will probably hold for a while. Dark and dense. Tasted blind with a Barbaresco and Barolo. The strong tannins in those may have muted my perception of the tannings in the Brunello. Tasted before and after food (smoked pork). Better with food.

Firm tannins. This wine is going to stay around for a while. I would let it stay in the celler 10 more years. Tasted blind with a Barbaresco and Brunello. Tasted before and after food (smoked pork).

Strong tannins. Needs age and/or long decanting. We decanted if for two hours and then blind tasted along side a Brunello and a Barolo. With and without food. This was the consensus favorite, and the less costly (isn't that how it always works).
