Excellent bottle. Very pure nose of rose, cherry, blood orange, mint, and hay, with a dry, earthy quality that almost gave this a sandy powdery quality. Palate was lightfooted but powerful, alcohol will drop over next few years, but didn't drink hot or come out the nose. Good, fine grained tannins. Almost salty, mineral quality to soil note on palate. Real palate scrub. So clean, too. Good bottle in a really good spot. Really overdelivered and will be checking out other bottlings. Such energy. Wow.

Brett is distracting. Obviously really good juice on palate, but the Brett interferes with purity of fruit and cleanliness on nose. Really regrettable since there is such promise on palate and an incredible finish/texture to this wine, lively acid, tannic crunch, etc. Just can't get behind a wine with a dirty bouquet that comes off as smudgy and too much barnyard. Will seek out purer fruited expressions of Chinon that have the acid, crunch, fruit and tannins, without the dirty funk that goes over the top.

Great bottle. Solid ruby color, slight garnet edge. Fresh nose. Very fine, minty, fruitcake quality, rosey, earthy, almost powdery bouqet, with a slightly fiery tar quality. A real firework show of complexity and development. Red fruit and savory earthy quality in the mouth. Medium bodied feel, very light on its feet, but powerful impression with really fine fully resolved tannins. Long finish. A masterful bottle of nebbiolo. Would drink now for freshness of fruit as this feels complete, resolved, and the complexity is there in spades. Really colorful wine at its apogee. :)
