Simply astounding. This bottle was disgorged in 2009 and represents one of the finest Initials I have tasted. We used Bordeaux glasses, and the color was an iridescent deep golden hue. On the nose, an intoxicating scent of apricots, honey, and mineral. On the palate, the classic maderized profile of Selosse wines, with an unctuous viscosity with notes of apricots and honey notes. This was drunk with an appetizer of raw oysters and tune poke, as well as mains of black cod and chilean sea bass. Looking forward to drinking this special wine again in the future.

A meticulously maintained bottle over the years, this bottle showed beautifully and paired wonderfully with the genius culinary effort of David Chang's Majordomo in LA. Lovely deep red/purple color in the glass. A beautiful floral and cherry nose that was full and round. On the palate, it was utter magic with a foundation of earthiness and ripe cherries. Tannins were completely integrated and just enough acid to keep it all together. Just a magical bottle.

I'm a big fan of Ferren wines, both the whites and reds, and this did not disappoint. Popped and poured. Wonderful white flower and melon on the nose, followed by a rich palate of melon, quince, crushed rocks, and apple. In my mind, very similar to Marcassin Charodnnays, which of course is no surprise considering the winemaker's experience there.
