Decanted at 10am in the morning, placed a note card over the decanter and let it sit for the entire day. Started to drink around 7pm, opened nicely throughout the day. A little alcohol on the nose but non acidic. Nice deep red fruit. I have sat with several Italian producers that encourage opening Italian wine early. Anywhere from 12-24 hours in advance. Won't hurt to try out the process on a $20 bottle of wine!
