5/9/2020 3:28:00 AM - Estimated FransS, it is exactly how you said .. In my view, personal perception is the magic of wine. That's why I take risks. Constantly. No pain, no gain you know. Cheers!

2/7/2018 1:51:00 PM - Dear Wine Grove, I forgot to mention one top wine at the UGC tasting: Clos Fourtet. Léoville-Poyferré '15 (the bottle I tasted) was absolutely very good, but missed a kind of precision the top wines had. I haven't tasted the '16. I think the Rive gauche will be better in '16. Greeting, FransS

2/7/2018 12:20:00 PM - Thanks FransS...I will lock some of these 2015 futures in, particularly the SHL. Also what are your feelings about Leo.Poyferre 2015 and 2016, have you tasted these?

  • FransS says:

2/7/2018 1:14:00 AM - Dear Wine Grove, Far better than 2014! Specially Pessac-Léognan and St. Emilion and some Margaux. Top: Haut-Bailly, SHL, Domaine de Chevalier, Pavie-Macquin, Léoville-Barton.

10/27/2015 7:51:00 PM - Hi FransS That is pretty wild that we both had the Mouton in the early 80's. I am having a hard time believing the scores I am seeing for wines that years ago were good but not great. (Second-third growths) I am however going to have to follow your path and pick up a couple bottles. How long are you going to age the wine you mentioned?

9/8/2013 1:35:00 PM - Thank you Frans for the kind words. I really enjoy your tasting notes. As a fairly new wine drinker, I always look to follow those with authority on the subject of wine as a means of gaining mentorship. Thanks for sharing and cheers! Greetings from Seattle, Matthew.
