Sigh. This is my last bottle of this lovely wine. So soft and voluptuous; like velvet in the glass with well-integrated tannins and a very long finish. Slight hint of tapenade, but more remarkable for the intense, brambly dark fruits. This is the second day after opening and there's no sign of degradation. If it weren't for three-bottle bundling, I'd be getting this wine still.

The last time I had this was in 2017. I was wondering how it would hold up. I don't recall how it tasted back then (too much wine on New Year's Eve) but it sure is excellent now. Almond, a hint of apricot, honey, and menthol on the nose. Viscous mouthfeel, some heat on the back end and a very long finish. Butterscotch, caramel and dried apricot flavors predominate. Really lovely.

Pop 'n pour. I am humbled by this wine. Flavors of earth and truffles with an unending, slightly drying finish. Brambely/piney nose with underlying hints of cassis. On the palate, dark, brooding, smokey, cocoa..save this for your friends. Reverential, special occasion wine.
