  • 2021 Moric Blaufränkisch Alte Reben Lutzmannsburg

Great to be back to newest vintage of probably finest Blaufrankisch there is. Vines of 85-110 years of age, 24 months in large used barrels, no fining, no filtration, no additives, just pinch of sulphites. Deep ruby. Intense and rich aroma of blueberries, roasted herbs, blackberries, earth, bread, plum marmalade. Full body, explosive and powerful yet at same time tight and restrained, begs for 4-6 years to start unfurling its true potential. All in all its exceptional with great structure and firm tannins.

  • 2021 Moric Blaufränkisch Ried Kirchberg Lutzmannsburg

Pleasure to return to new vintage of this beautiful Blaufrankisch. New project of Roland Velich, first vintage was just 2019. Single varietal of Blaufränkisch comes from four vineyards planted between 1921-1981. Aged for 2 years in large and old barrels. Deep ruby. Intense aroma of herbs, violets, blueberries, cherries, clove, licorice, hints of tomato leaf. Medium+ body, juicy & quite tight, bursting with youth, but on other hand elegant & delicate, showing deep multilayered flavours and refined medium tannins.

  • 2022 Moric Blaufränkisch

An entry wine from a Blaufrankisch master Roland Velich. Same philosophy even for such level - lots of manual labour, low intervention, spontaneous fermentation, aging for 12 months in large used oak barrels. Medium+ ruby colour. Medium intensity aroma of black cherries, blackberries, cassis, herbs, hints of smoke and coffee. Medium body, fresh and juicy, black fruit and herbal flavours with smoky notes, spicy medium tannins.
