9/8/2013 5:47:00 PM - Uh oh. Tasted another sub-par 09 tonight. Terry Hoage The Pick. Sharp, tart finish marred it.

5/23/2013 7:05:00 PM - Fantastic! Thanks for the recommendations! We appreciate them very much. We will have to get in touch when we make it up there. I am eagerly awaiting the release of the Law wines. I emailed Don Law a while back while they were just begining construction on their site. We will try to make it up there soon! When we do we would be more than happy to share a glass or three. Not sure if you've tried Rangeland yet, but they are very reasonable and nice Bordeaux blends. Edmond August is another worth checking out if you haven't already. My fiancee and I are heading up there mid June, after our wedding. Maybe we can cheers then. Feel free to email me @ shanerm5@yahoo.com. Cheers, Shane

5/22/2013 11:17:00 AM - STM82 - just now saw your note... sorry for the delay. I tried posting this on your message board but it wouldn't let me. Anyways, thank you for the kind words. I do not have a blog nor am involved in one. I do live on the Central Coast, we frequent tasting rooms often, and Mrs. Redguy, who used to be at Denner, is now the tasting room manager at Sans Liege. As far as recommendations, I have many. Sans Liege in Pismo Beach for one. Great Rhone wines, fair pricing, and great winemaker/owners. In Paso, Onx is a fine up and coming winery with some ecclectic blends. Ryan at Paix Sur Terre gets high marks as well. If you like Bordeaux blends and pinot, RN Estates is a great option. Table friendly wines. PasoPort is definitely worth a try if you like ports... they are excellent. Scott Hawley of Torrin is the winemaker for a new project, Law Vineyards. They'll be out soon. I look forward to that. Many great pinot producers south in the Lompoc area. Talley in Arroyo Grande is an under-appreciated top shelf pinot and chard producer. I could go on seemingly forever. When you're out in this area let me know... maybe we can meet up and tip a glass or three.

5/17/2013 7:57:00 PM - Hi Redguy! I have been a fan of your notes and have stumbled upon a blog through my facination with Rhone varietals which aligns with your tastes and I am just curious if it is your blog. My fiancee and I are HUGE fans of Paso Rhone wines, as you can see from my cellar... We have a few recommendations if you are interested since our tastes seem somewhat similar. I also was wondering if you might have a few recommendations for us as we find ourselves up in Paso every other month or so. We absolutely love the region, the people, and of course the wine! We love the Tillmans', Russell, Vailia, and Nick is great too. Not sure if it is your blog, but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! If it is your blog I'm sure our conversation could go on for hours! Cheers!

2/27/2013 6:20:00 PM - I found '09 futures at $22 and '10 around $24. Slowly creeping up, but La Tour de Mons is a great buy.

2/26/2013 8:34:00 AM - First off I would like to say you write great reviews. You should consider yourself Lucky to live where you do & sample all those barrel samples. Had the pleasure of meeting your wife at the winery last fall, got to talking about wine & celler tracker. Big fan or California Rhone Blends. Signed up for Booker & on the waiting list for Saxum & Herman Story, Just wondered if there was any other hidden Gems in Paso?
