9/26/2019 6:05:00 PM - Hey D, 10/28/19 tasting event in Florham Pk NJ put on by Gary's Wine...kind of ridiculous, like a kid in candy store each year can only try 30 out of hundreds of wines, extremely well put together event and all goes to charity.

6/12/2019 8:28:00 PM - Hey - If I had your email address, I can't seem to find it now. Was thinking of trying to set a few events up over the summer. Could you email me again at sethr4750@gmail.com ? Looking forward to hearing from you.

2/17/2017 1:03:00 PM - All the bottles were sourced from their cellar except the '55 Burgundy. The condition of the older Bordeaux is stellar and I've enjoyed many great bottles there. I would say the prices are fair and you can find some bargains but the top wines are generally priced near their auction value with some exceptions

2/2/2017 8:31:00 PM - It looks like you had a great tasting at Latour CS. Were all the bottles sourced from their cellar? How were the prices?

  • dream says:

1/8/2016 4:28:00 PM - Hi Seth- would be very interested but I have plans that night with my wife that I can't change. Let's try again sometime.

1/5/2016 1:46:00 PM - Still would love to get together and drink sometime. We're doing a small Leroy/Drouhin dinner in Brooklyn on 1/30/16 and have a spot open - any interest?

1/1/2015 4:17:00 PM - Seth- Most of these wines were drunk at our annual game dinner in the private room at Daniel. My friend, Omar Khan arranges it and we bring our own wines. You should meet Omar, although he'll drain your bank account if you're not careful. No question, he arranges the best wine dinners in NYC and his food and wine club, International Business & Wine Society, is really great to be a part of. Here's to drinking even better in 2015!

12/31/2014 5:30:00 PM - Dude ... you're drinking like a rock star this holiday season!

  • dream says:

12/25/2014 8:25:00 AM - Well, yes, i have some thoughts since i've been drinking and collecting for many years. Firstly, don't be afraid to "throw money away" trying lots of different wines. NYC is such a great place to do that even by the glass. Join some sort of tasting group where you can be exposed to the great wines of the world. I can suggest one although it's not cheap; the International Business and Wine Society based in NYC. the guy who runs it, Omar Khan, has an incredible knack fo getting the best chefs in NY to prepare lavish "off the menu" meals for the group accompanied by seriously great wines. You should do all this to try to hone your tastes, which will naturally change over time, before you start collecting a whole lot. I always spent more than I should have on better wines that are really meant to age like Bordeaux, Burgundy (red only), Northern Rhone and Barolo and I rarely run across a bottle from my cellar that is past it's best which is another danger of collecting the wrong wines. Anyway, good luck and have fun with it.

12/23/2014 8:23:00 AM - Hi ... I see we're both in NYC area. I am very impressed with your collection. I am just starting out and can only imagine having a 500+ bottle collection. Any suggestions for the newcomer? :-)

10/8/2013 10:43:00 AM - Thanks Marc and will look you up if I head to Beantown. That '69 Merode was acquired at auction in a mixed lot aof ole Burgs a few of us in a group took a shot at. Rare indeed.

10/1/2013 4:17:00 PM - Really enjoy your tasting notes - I see that we have similar taste. We are also the only two people to have notes on the '69 Merode Corton Clos du Roi! Drop me a line if you're ever in Boston. Marc

  • dream says:

12/23/2012 7:19:00 AM - Yes Seth, I was there for that great tasting dinner and I remember meeting you briefly. I am involved with lots of great wine dinners in the city that I set up with several different groups of collectors (as I'm sure you are too) so perhaps we should invite each other to some of these dinners. I'm off to South America for several weeks so let's reach out in January. Happy and healthy new year!

  • Seth Rosenberg says:

12/22/2012 9:49:00 AM - I like your notes a lot. We must have been at the RWC Madeira tasting at Hearth together a while back. Did we meet?
