Apparently upon release these were $93, but can be had on Winebid now for $15 - $35, multiple vintages. Starts off unbalanced, but with 1-2 hours of air, it comes together showing more mature flavor notes and increasing acidity. Baking spices, black cherry, cinnamon, forest floor. Kind of a deal for an aged Napa Cab.

9/4/2018 6:23:00 PM - Thanks again for the Denver restaurant tips. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get into the more interesting suggestions (next trip). Did find some interesting wine lists in Aspen (no, not Little Nell), all with Aspen prices.

First response to a question on this web site so not sure if posting this is the proper protocol.
I am also curious how you were notified of my review or did you just happen along it? I only posted it yesterday.
Anyway, the 2010 Jaffurs is drinking beautifully. I only wish I had or could find more. This was my last and only bottle of the '10 Larner. I have some of the Upslope '12 and p7 or 8 of the Larner '12.
As far as your mag...I would think that you will want to open this bottle within the next 12 months, providing it is being cellared. II am happy to assist :-)
Question for you...any experience with older Jaffurs? I found some '03 Melville Syrah and '02 Stolpman Syrah buried on a wine cellar shelf at one of our fine wine shops. Would you expect the wine to be to far over-the-hill at this point or would you give a go? I could probably bargin the cost to about $30/btl.
10/2/2017 3:58:00 PM - Mootsie, thanks for the info on the weill vineyards, that explains why Bedrock is no longer making wine from their grapes, too bad
10/20/2015 6:10:00 PM - Thanks for clarifying the Bedrock Old Vine question. I had several of Ridge's zin blend offerings before opening this one and think I just like their style a little better.
12/14/2014 1:11:00 PM - Thanks for your posting on the Carlisle Monte Rosso. I loved the first bottle I tried and will try another one tonight. I love wines made from the Monte Rosso zin including both the Carlisle and Bedrock
4/4/2014 8:23:00 AM - Thank you for the comment re: Carlisle Vyd. I have been disappointed with all four of their wines from that vintage, and most past comments have reviled me or instructed me. A loyal fan base is fine, but it is healthy not to feel alone.
12/5/2013 2:59:00 PM - I have one bottle of Jaffurs 08 Verna's left, a great Syrah . I see you like it even more than me. Man I love your wine cellar....impressive! I just put a 2010 Uplsope in my cellar, my first.

Raspberry, pepper and tobacco. Very enjoyable for the price, $19. Will likely improve, but very drinkable now.
