1/3. Medium brickish garnet color, clear. Smells like dry leaves, black tea, mushrooms, leather, red fruit, graphite, lemon. Light to medium body, medium (+) acid, medium finish, with flavors of cherry, lemon, spice, and minerals. Has an elegant nature to it. Perfect tonight with a curried salmon with mango avocado salsa. Time to drink up though.

This wine has been interesting for me. The '07, '09, and '10 of this have been a real mixed bag, with some bottles showing overly tired and oxidative, with a deep golden pushing tawney color, and then bottles like this '09 tonight showing much closer to a true golden color, aromas of honeysuckle and sourdough, bit of fermented apple; full body, medium to medium(+) acid and finish, with flavors of yellow apple, pear, a bit of a metallic edge, lemon, honey, and minerals. I'm enjoying it much more than some of the other bottles. Fingers crossed on my last bottle (this vintage).

Been a minute! Or...11 years, but time flies, ya know?
Dense with ruby edges. Smells like blue, dark red, and black fruits, violets, graphite, black olives, cedar, lemon, and orange. Full body, medium acid and finish, and flavors of dark red and black fruits, lemon, orange, black tea, and spice. Definitely ready to go and drinking well tonight. Will have my last sooner than later though.
