Nose with yellow fruit, some citrus, some butter notes and hints of nuts, but overall with a fresh impression. Palate with medium body but a lean rather than viscous impression, apples and pears, just a bit of stone fruit, really good acidity, mineral notes (chalky?), and a long fresh aftertaste. Notes of maturity on the nose, but sticks together quite well, and not really much hints of a hot vintage. 89 pts.
This bottle came across as noticeably younger and better than another bottle opened several years ago; it had more of the buttery and nutty notes, so was more oxidative.

NV Osborne Jerez-Xérès-Sherry Fino en Rama Coquinero

Golden colour with hints of amber, so quite dark compared to the other fino en rama bottlings I've encountered. Typical fino nose plus a bit more nuts (almonds, hazelnuts) than usual and some hints of lemon peel that provides freshness. Medium(+) body, again nutty notes, quite good acidity, and a long and fresh aftertaste with a lot of minerality. A very fine fino that is rather substantial on the palate, but rather comes across as an extra aged fino than an en rama version. 89 pts.
A note: bottle just purchased but back label says "Fecha embotellado 04/10/2023" so I guess this is last year's "en rama" batch.

Nose with cherries, some red and black currants, gravel-type minerality, hints of mint and animal notes, some oak and some floral notes. Medium bodied with red to dark fruit including cherry, good acidity, mineral notes, medium minus tannins, and a fresh berry-dominated aftertaste. An elegant profile, only just showing developed notes, 90 p.
