Opened for our twin’s 30th birthday and it did not disappoint. A lithe style, not unexpected with the label’s abv showing 11-13%. Wonderful depth and dark fruit on a soft frame that brings back the Bordeaux of old.

Opened this in the last few months after picking up on a shelf for $45 in 2016 when I bought a few in a row as they were there nearly every time I walked into the store. They were looked at differently then, being half the age of GTS, and were thought of as hot and spiky. This was when BT turned the corner from the first batches. This is a caramel bomb, and with air, is sweet and drinks fairly easy for 130 proof, though not much oak. The main thing I notice comparing to more recent batches is the incredible viscosity and mouthfeel that you rarely get today. Really stands out, especially in side by sides with recent batches or other similar bourbons. Always keep 187's of special bottles to do future comparisons over the years.
