Bright honeyed tropical fruits on the nose Deep gold almost orange colour. Sunshine in a glass. A touch of raisins, but more apricots and peaches, then some marmalade and citrus which balances it really well. Very clean, not cloying and well balanced. Went really well with our dessert course and then the Colston Bassett

Lovely gentle spice and red fruited on the nose. Mature, rounded, smooth, elegant red fruits, nuts, coffee. An absolute delight and a rare treat. Thank you Alex. Went brilliantly with the Barbers cheddar and the Comte.

Tried this on the basis that the same producers Roncieres '10 was singing when we tried it. The nose was promising with deep red and black fruits and some sous bois. The palate was very tightly wound at this stage and not giving much away. The good news is that there was a small amount left in the bottle the next day and a crafty slug revealed a big mouthful of intense dark fruit. Will be a seriously good and weighty GC in time. No point in trying another in less than five years.
