Last night Cafe V was open - had high expectations and failed to meet them. Opened up nicely over a 2 hour meal, but just never developed the complexity that I was prepared for. Was very smooth and silky, but nothing noteworthy stood out.

Wow - loved this wine 10 years ago, found another bottle in an online auction and it is even better than before; still a load of oak on the nose and throughout the flavor profile (which is fine by me, but some others may think is overdone), but great complex flavors, dusty tannins, super dry and 30 second finish. Would mistake this for a classic CA or WA cabernet or meritage in a blind tasting. Would love to find more.

Powerhouse of a wine - not as much going on with the nose as I had hoped, but tons of dark fruit flavor, good complexity, medium to heavy mouthfeel, with bold tannins still very present after 13+ years. Tannins became very dry on the finish after about 1 hour of decanting. This one still has at least another 10 years of aging potential. Looking forward to seeing how this one develops over time - 2 bottles remaining and will look for more.
