Early on this showed fairly tough, with medicinal herbs, earth, and a bit of unripe blackberry fruit. By the 2nd day it was shining with red plums and black cherry, menthol, a touch of smoke. Surprising how much decanting this needed, but turned out as good as it always is.
Lovely but quite inward Chardonnay with a ton of tension in reserve. Lemon building to pear and hazelnut on the nose, lemon and slate on the palate with a classy balance of extract and acidity. Well composed, long time to develop most likely, needs air right now. Cool toned all around, draws you in.

I always seem to underestimate how much air Nebbiolo needs at this age. 3hrs was not enough, probably should've done 8. By day 2 this had such beautiful nose of raspberry, roses, soya, green tea, and pipe tobacco. Palate was silky but still pretty grippy and firm. Shame I only have one 2011, this has much further to develop.
