I used the excuse of my 29th Birthday to open a birth year wine, i was fortunate to have sourced this wine from a cellar with exemplary provenance and the resultant wine had structure and finess that is like no other 25 + year old wine i have had the pleasure of enjoying.
The colour of the wine is medium to brick red, which has held it's colour well. The nose still has some primary fruit of blackcurrant alongside tomato leaf, as well as attractive old leather, sweet tobacco and a touch of cedar.
The palate is layered and balanced, bright acid and fine integrated tannins give structure to earthy black fruits, cedar and graphite. The wines length is considerable with tomato leaf and briny cassis lingering. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2015-2020)

An attractive light red in colour, the nose begins savoury and restrained, building in the glass over time. Savoury red cherry gains subtle baking spice and gentle oak inputs.
The palate is medium bodied with plum and dark cherry fruits being dense and amply supported by integrated french oak, stewed rhubarb and rosemary complexity build towards a spicy and complex finish.

Tasted from magnum, this wine is a glowing example of aged Tasmanian Chardonnay, it's developed, yet maintains acidity and mouthfeel even as it nears it's 20th birthday.
A golden yellow in colour the nose is rich with stone fruits and brioche and ever so faint gun flint aroma, continuing to grow in stature as it warms up in the glass.
The palate has flinty, mealy characters on entry that become fuller with buttery stone fruits on the mid to back palate. There is good texture with full lees characters and ever so slight grapefruit astringency. The wine is drinking at it's peak as a mature Chardonnay, and best consumed over the next couple of years. 1/3/2015 4:41:00 AM - Hi Patrick,
Always good to see some more tasting notes dedicated to Aussie wines. Welcome to the site.
One feature of cellartracker I find indispensable is the 'most recent first' drop-down on the tasting notes, especially wines with lots of notes. This helps me see, in an approximate way, how the wine is drinking at the most current time.
Your notes aren't compatible with this feature, because you've bulk-uploaded them on a single date. And on checking your website (which you are spruiking a lot), you have a huge, huge database of tasting notes. That's to be commended, and I don't want to discourage you contributing here - but maybe, if you're going to continue copying information from your website to here, you could take the time to fill in the 'drink date' when you post your note. Otherwise, it defaults to today's date. Not a big deal for a few notes, but you've posted like 854 over two days.
Again, don't mean to be rude or whatever, just maybe take the time to work out the subtleties of cellartracker - you'll get a lot more satisfaction out of it that way, and your notes will be much more coherent to the other users of the site - which I am hoping aligns with your intentions here, and that you aren't just trying to plug your site. Cheers
