Nice! I mean, this is Lemberger, and this is nine years old now, and this is the basic wine, entry level. but it's nice, deep red colour, black berries, cassis, very very little "flüchtige Säure"/ volatile acid, with present tannins (mouth drying). Perfect integration of everything, no deep depth, no complex complexity, but this wine is delivering. No ageing, perfect in the drinking window now, would expect some 5-10 years to go (while not beeing one of these svabian connoisseurs and Spätzle-with-Sauce-lovers like my friends from Stuttgart and Esslingen).

What an awesome wine! Roasted pineapple with coconut/vanilla icecream. Golden colour, no ageing, at the beginning of its 20years plus lifecycle. Really perfect balance of a juicy acidity with exotic fruitiness and sweetness. Had it with grilled Pfälzer Saumagen and bread from Baasch bakery Wiltingen - perfect pairing. 1/13/2024 8:18:00 PM - Dear G, thanks for your comment and it is a relief to find someone who doesn't think I am a maniac for thinking as I do on the '21 vintage.
In Oz, the drinker expects bone dry Riesling, which is good at one level, as I can load up on the 'off-dry' styles, whereas there can be a lot of competition for the Kabinett/Trocken styles.
I have found some malic imbalance in many of the dry styles from '21, but that has tended to really create fantastic tension in the off dry styles.
I see you have enjoyed an older Rebholz - I have been impressed by their wines. Any thoughts on their work more generally?
