First bottle of 6...... Honestly, i think I went a little early as this isn't yet delineated enough to warrant a higher score. All the ingredients are there, very Pomerol : velvety, rich, deep wine....very, very well put together. But again, lacking delineation and therefore doesn't have the wow factor that comes when drinking a wine that moves through the gears. It a good but not great vintage so perhaps this imposes a ceiling but I am optimistic this will improve incrementally from here..... I will wait, probably two years, until the next bottle.

I'm rapidly falling in love with this estate.... This is the youngest vintage I've tried but after the 2008 and the 2012 I was committed to going on the journey. The 2014 stands out as it's the last of the 'reasonably' priced vintages.... its vertiginous from there as the 2015 is nearly twice the price. That said, the 2014 cis exceptionally polished and enjoyable. Full, velvety, long, it just feels very well out together. It also has a really compelling aniseed note that come across a very moreish (I am not a great lover of aniseed but it's fully integrated with the fruit)..... Anyway, what a lovely wine.

PnP, with hindsight it deserved an hours decant. I do like this estate but prefer other vintages. 2006 right bank is proving slow to come around. I think this warrants more time in the cellar though I see upside as limited, it might just mellow the wine and produce the more rounded experience that one is used to with Magdelaine.
