A refined Napa Cab that leans into elegance over brute force. Bright red fruit, good freshness, moderate tannins, subtle oak — a wine that works well now but will settle nicely over a few more years. For me, there’s no need to wait any longer.

2023 Sandhi Wines Aligoté Sweeney Road

This is my first domestic Aligote, and it’s a substantial wine. It has a rich, intense flavor reminiscent of ripe green apples, stone fruits, and a subtle lime twist. While I don’t have any comparable wines in my tasting rolodex, I can confidently say that this is a bold and flavorful wine with a lot to offer.
I’m enjoying this wine on its own, but I think it would have been even better paired with some food. Perhaps a charcuterie board would have been a great choice.
Not a score/ points guy. Fun wine. I’d love to try it again in a few years.
