What a nice little surprise. Random bottle picked while bargain hunting at auction.
Absolutely reinforces why I buy current vintages of Grey Label. Still full of life. Colour shows practically no signs of 13 years development. Nose is starting to get some aged aromas and the palate is smooth and long.
Classy wine. Goes well with Fettuccine Boscaiola. Bravo Wolfy. Bravo Uber Eats.

Isn’t it strange how the same vines, the same basic vintage conditions, and the same wine makers can produce substantially different wines?
I’ve had the 2017 Moss Wood Chardonnay. It is terrific - tight and generous at the same time. The 2017 will cellar well. It is spot on.
This 2013 is certainly generous, but lacks focus. It is mouth filling and toasty and very pleasant overall, but it needs a backbone of acid. It’s a bit middle aged Dad flabby (not that I currently associate with that metaphor), you can tell as much simply from the colour being golden. Not a cellar prospect, but a good cuddler right now.

3/6/2018 8:44:00 PM - Great notes, thanks for your CT contributions... We have been told we write novellas, but some vins just fill us with so much to say... Some tell us to toss them in the disposal too... So who knows...
Anyway, it's quite clear, you know your Aussie vins and we love nearly all the one's we've had....
Do you know the John Duval beverages, Plexus and Entity? We keep reading about them, but have not found them locally yet...
We LOVE Penfolds Bin 389, the "big buttery red" that it is, just rocks us right! We have been drinking it for decades, and SOME DAY we'll write our CT Tasting Note "book" about it, so all our readers can get some good sleep! Obviously, our "handle" says it all...
