Big changes have been afoot at PC over the last 10 years and their winemaking has changed dramatically for the better as a result. You should try to pick up an '03 or '05 at auction to get a taste of what more old world BDX was like (with a 3-5 hour decant), an '00 or '03 Branaire Ducru (with a 1-2 hour decant) would give you a good bit of insight too. I happen to like both old and new BDX but many, many BDX purists despise the new. Same with Napa, I am ok with an '87 or an '18, just need to know how to treat them and how to enjoy them with the right foods, etc.
