  • 2018 Ridge Evangelho

Clear, medium ruby color, fading at the rim. Clean, dark fruit on nose, hint of spice, medium intensity. Red and black fruit on the palate, Carignane is prominent. Dry, high acid, medium plus tannins. Medium alcohol, full bodied, medium length finish. A very good wine. Primary and youthful still four years after bottling, just beginning to develop, not much evolution on day two. Ready to drink, good aging potential due to its structure.

  • 2013 Silver Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Bates Ranch

The wine is clear, with medium intensity, and ruby color. Just the slightest hint of garnet on the edge. Clean on the nose, herbal, with medium+ intensity. Still mostly primary and developing at 10 years from vintage. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acidity, tannin, body and alcohol. Excellent balance. Medium+ intensity, red fruited. Primary and secondary characteristics still dominate. The finish is long. This is a very good wine, fully ready to drink, but with solid potential for further aging.

  • 2017 Woodenhead Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

The wine appears clear, with medium intensity, and ruby color. Hardly any sediment. Clean on the nose, medium+ intensity, primary aroma is red fruited, tertiary characteristics are starting to show, earthy and dusty. The wine is fully developed. On the palate, the wine is dry, with medium acidity, medium- tannin, and medium alcohol. Medium body, medium+ intensity. Primary red fruit flavor characteristics dominate, red cherry and raspberry, a hint of stems is fading. Tertiary flavors underneath, a savory, meaty undertone. Long finish. Very good quality, can drink now, with limited potential for further aging.
