Some kind of magic - Mike Smith puts in his wines! This man is a master at new world Cabernet. Tasted the La Verdad at a surprise 50th birthday party. It was on the table with a popped cork, so guessing just an hour of air. Singing right out of the glass, leaping waves of graphite and dark boysenberry, gravely structure and a finish to last a life time. Fantastic! 99-100 points as I can't imagine a better Las Piedras wine out there. Thank you Mike Smith!

Pop n pour at a friends BBQ, served with family style chicken/ sausage and pesto salad. Ripe strawberry and raspberry, flint like minerality and nice acidity lead up to a plump mid palate. Well made, but not over the top - Overall a nice pinot, a bit young, i prefer a few years on WS Pinots and this confirmed. 15 is a solid year, id hold for a year or two and try again.

Gotta love the Mike Smith and ToKalon combination. The Grand Daddy has all the layers and details i want in a big cali cab but the jaw dropping finish is what I just love about Mikes wines. 2015 is drinking so nice now, i have 2 more of these, so great now and can't wait to see how they evolve over the next year. ToKalon/ Mike Smith perfection!

7/29/2016 6:46:00 AM - Hey, noticed you posted a tasting note for roulot meursault les perrieres 2007.
You wouldn't be willing to part with a bottle? I'm kicking myself for not purchasing some at a recent auction. Just throwing it out there, and thanks in advance.
