Delicious and in the pocket. Touch of burnt hair reduction, and acid still a little firm here - but no worry. Drink now and over the next five years. Clearer aromatics and overall just a bit better on day 2 - but I think we are firmly into bottle-by-bottle territory at this point.

Just a taste, but this was gorgeous and in a perfect place for drinking. Seductive dried florals, sous-bois nose with pure evolved red fruits and beautifully integrated acidic thrust on the palate. Thanks David!

1/17/2018 5:37:00 PM - I have a huge backlog of TNs that I've not had the time to transcribe into CT. However for flawed wines I record this immediately when the bottle is consumed.
Also NFO = New French Oak.
1/17/2018 4:49:00 PM - Just looking over your notes (after I posted a note on the 96 Pira Marenca and looked back at yours). It seems you have a huge number of flawed wines, at least recently - is there a reason for that?
