Tasting at Pomerol at the Chateau. We could taste the vintage 2010 directly from the barrique with three different aging of the wood or toasting. Fantastic experience! From fruity, to wood and vanilla nose, torefaction. So much difference for the same wine at the origin! Then, tasting of the vintage 2006 in the bottle: elegant, with a nose of berries, plumps, roses, coffee and chocolate. In the palate: round, well balanced and great freshness. Tannins are well present but not aggressive anymore. Some menthol notes. Not extremely persistent. Then "Le Benjamin de Beauregard 2009": still young but with potential.

Tasting in St. Émilion at the Chateau. Smell and taste both not extraordinary. Warm vintage that one feels in the nose: ripe fruits (plums, overcooked confiture), and a vague unpleasant smell I could not define. Round in the mouth, but a metallic retro-taste, like blood. Would have preferred to try there a better vintage!
