Drinking really well at the moment. Very complex, fully integrated and an alcohol level in check, which makes it all the more appealing! Was a bit hesitant to open but happy i did and happy i have other bottles.

An excellent bottle (in perfect condition, label and label). Fully resolved of course but still so much energy! First encounter and what en encounter! I had a fallout with Bordeaux a while back but this is my style: elegant and with aged. This is keeping very well. Unfortunately, my only bottle, bought recently so got lucky i guess…

First time trying this wine and i was quite disappointed by the experience. While there are some positives, i’ll focus on the defaults: although less than 10 years old, fresh fruits are mostly gone (or were there any in the first place) and you are left with prunes and more prunes. There funkiness doesn’t bother me but can bother some people so beware: this is “cul de cheval” at an Olympic level… Lacking a bit of acidity and the 13.8 abv feels like a LOT more. If i wanted a funky port i would have ordered one… Fully unimpressed and probably my first and last encounter with this wine. I love my Cote Roties and this has absolutely nothing to do with a Northern Rhone syrah (just putting it out there as i saw some prior comparisons to Rhone).
