This wine was formerly produced by 'Domaine Marey-Monge'. DRC have managed the site from 1966 on behalf of the Marey-Monge family and as owners from 1988.
Critic tasting note: "(2002) Similar colour to Grands-Échezeaux. Typical nose of violets, spice and super-ripe cherries. More backward and restrained than usual. A tight earthy, leathery palate which is less feminine than usual. Not quite the smoothness and finesse of other vintages but still a wonderful wine." - 92/100, Tom Cannavan

Dunkles Karmingranat, violetter Kern, rubinrote Reflexe, zarter Ockerrand. In der Nase vielschichtig, Anklänge von Rosenblättern, reife dunkle Beeren, Orangenzesten, zarte tabakige Würze. Am Gaumen noch von einer gewissen Strenge geprägt, festes Tannin, sehr delikate Frucht, hat eine rotbeerige Finesse, mineralische Länge, tolles Reifepotenzial, sollte noch etwas Flaschenreife genießen. Complet, puissante son fond et ses épaules sont larges. On peut commencer à la boire même si elle a encore un potentiel de garde d'une dizaine d'années. C'est une photo aboutie pour bien comprendre le style du cru à maturité dans un registre un peu plus musclé que les saint-vivant récentes, plus en intensité qu'en puissance absolue.
