This cuvée comes from four parcels located on different terroirs which complement each other in the blend (rolled pebbles which bring fatness and power; sands for freshness and acidity; red clay covered with rolled pebbles which brings structure and body; and finally a sandy-limestone hillside which gives finesse). The vines are grown without pesticides or insecticides and the manure is natural. The land is worked without weedkiller to maintain ventilation and flexibility of the soil.

And if some compare it to the magnificent 2010, some others do not hesitate to go as far as the famous star-vintage 1990… Either way, the evidence that we are witnessing the making of a great vintage is clear.

Superbe Aromatik, Gewürze, Beeren und Kräuter; voller Ansatz, dichter Bau, eng sitzendes Klassetannin mit Schliff, langes, saftiges, fruchtiges Finale; superber, perfekt ausbalancierter, grossartiger Wein.

Deeply colored, this is incredibly concentrated. The wine is fleshy, silky and palate staining. The fruit coats your palate, but it's never heavy, or overblown. Instead, everything is in balance. The richly textured wine has polish, length and purity, along with a sexy style and a finish that you cannot stop tasting, staying with you for over 50 seconds! The wine is a blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 5%Mourvedre.

The nose is aromatic, racy and powerful (but in finesse). It reveals notes of cassis, small wild berries and small notes of blackberry associated with slight touches of wild strawberry, spices, licorice, flowers as well as discreet hints of pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers gourmandise, finesse, a beautiful suavity, a beautiful juiciness, a good definition as well as a mineral frame. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy blackberry, juicy plum and small notes of juicy black berries, fleshy blueberry associated with hints of fleshy raspberry, Zan, tobacco, toasted oak / chocolate as well as slight / discreet hints of caramelization and almond. Tannins are fine and a bit firm. Good length.
