Second Growth. Deuxieme Grand Cru Classe in 1855.
Expert tasting note: "Medium to deep ruby red in color. The ripe, dark fruit on the nose is tightened up by cedary aromas. Cedar notes dominate the red fruits on the palate. Acidity is reasonable but doesn't currently lift the fruit over the structure. The mid-palate is firm & drying. Alcohol is balanced 7 the finish has fair length, but currently it ends quite cedary & attenuated." - 11/00 DCAMW

- Producer Notes
- Property of the Quié family, Château Rauzan-Gassies is provided with 30 hectares of vines in the Margaux appellation and 30 hectares in the Haut-Médoc appellation. It is this famous terroir of Haut-Médoc where L'Orme de Rauzan-Gassies is coming from. This delightful story began in 1936, when Paul Quié offered Château Bel-Orme as a wedding gift to his wife, Lucienne, and continued a few years later, when they purchased together Château Rauzan-Gassies. Since then, the Orme residence has been the new generation’s family home, revisiting with L’Orme de Rauzan-Gassies, the finesse of a great wine, charming and fruity.
